Single & Sexy on Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day. Whoopdie friggin doo.
I think the entire idea of V-Day is retarded. It's such a Hallmark holiday for people to make money, and why do you need a specific day just to do something with your loved one? Yes, maybe I'm a little bitter about being single today, and maybe I would care a bit more about V-Day if I was in a relationship. Although 3 years ago, when I was, I still thought it to be silly. Sure, we did go to dinner & a movie that night, which we may not have done if it hadn't been V-Day, but other than that, it wasn't such a big deal.
I hate the fact that Hallmark & other card companies make so much money selling cards. And cards aren't cheap either - anywhere from $3-5 for a card seems crazy! And chocolate companies - V-day chocolate is out right after Christmas, so they don't just make money off the chocolate that's given for Valentine's, but they also make money off the chocolate sold for the last month & a half for anyone who just wants chocolate!! Although I will admit, I do enjoy the cheap chocolate that's sold after today!
So yes, I do hate the idea of Valentine's Day. And yet, at the same time, I do kind of wish I was in a relationship & had someone to share today with. It feels like a rub-it-into-the-single-people's type of day as well. I don't care a huge amount that I'm single (although I do care a bit) and I didn't think I'd be affected much (which I'm not, but a little bit) Oh well. There's always that cheap chocolate tomorrow! :P

Every holiday is a Hallmark holiday. All that I care about is whether or not the holiday gives me a day off, and Valentine's Day is seriously lacking in that aspect - geeze!
I don't really have anything against Valentine's Day. Even after spending it alone every year I think it's still a good thing. It gives you a chance to show somebody you appreciate them and all the little things - something that should be done daily, but nobody has the time to anymore. It's like a deadline. You know you have to have something accomplished for this date or you will be fired and replaced.

Hey Jill.....V-day is TOTALLY overrated. I agree completely =). It really does suck if u have noone to share it with as well...or if u do have someone to share it with..but they're like in another country or something! I LOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE chocolate though, so im happy that at least i get to buy the cheap stuff at any time in the month of feb! Hehehe.......later jill,
