You spin me right round baby right round...

...like a record baby, right round round round!

Hello Cyberspace!

This update is for you Sophie! ;) (but for everyone to read!)

I'm in a pretty good mood tonight. It's Thursday, which means tomorrow's Friday! And I'm going back to Waterloo tomorrow for FASS, which a few of my friends are in :)

Here's the story from Amanda's party last weekend, which was great times:

I got there around 7pm, and we pre-drank. She had made 117 Jello shooters, and between about 15 of us, we consumed about 102 of them. The night before, I was also there, and we made pudding shooters. Now, before you go "eww," let me tell you: they were EXCELLENT! Basically, it called for one package of pudding mix, 1/4 cup of vodka, 3/4 cup milk, some whipped cream, and 1/2 cup of some other type of alcohol. So we made chocolate pudding with Bailey's, chocolate pudding with creme de menthe, vanilla pudding with Dooley's (which is a toffee liquor) and vanilla pudding with raspberry liquor. And then put them into 2oz cups, and some were straight one kind, and some had a mix. But we had so much fun making them, and they were SO GOOD!! :D So a lot of those were consumed, and a lot of other types of alcohol were consumed (I should mentioned that those 102 jello shooters were consumed both before & after we went out) There were about 15 of us, and we got to the Stampede Corral, which is a country bar/club. I'm not usually a fan of country music, but I had a kickass time! Well, once we got in - the lineup was NUTS! We waited probably an hour & a half, and this was getting there around 9pm! And the place wasn't that full either. Some of the guys brought a bunch of Jello shooters with them for in line, and the waiting wasn't too bad, until the end, when it felt long. But it was kinda fun before that. So we were there, we chatted, we danced, we drank, etc. Then we went back to Amanda's place, and partied some more! We played drinking Jenga, then shot glass Checkers. I was on a team for Checkers with Amanda & Amanda, so I didn't have to drink them all, but they filled up 2 extra shot glasses at the beginning, so I took those before we started! We were playing with Butter Shots, which were ok at the beginning, but then after you have a lot, they're just sweet. So we partied it up for awhile, then people started getting tired, so we went to bed around 5-5:30am. Amanda has a fairly big bed in her room, so it was going to be her, myself, Lance & Glen on it, but Glen didn't want to share, so Amanda didn't want to make him sleep on the floor alone, so they slept there. So it was just Lance & I. He was a pretty fun guy, but completely wasted. He passed out pretty quick. But while he slept, he kept moving closer to me...LOL. I slept like shit that night - I'm not good at sleeping in a strange place, nor with other people in a bed, and it was hot, and I just didn't feel tired. So I barely slept, and didn't get to bed any earlier Sunday night, so Monday at work was horrible. But well worth the awesome time! We got up around 11:15am, and I helped Amanda make breakfast for everyone - we had homemade waffles, french toast (made with homemade cinnamon nut bread), bacon, and fruit. YUMMY! Afterwards, those of us that were left did dishes/cleaned up...it was the least we could do! Amanda was an awesome hostess, and it was a fantastic time!

I'm really enjoying the gym - I went 3 times this week, well, including tonight when I had an appointment. Julie (the one trainer) showed me around the equipment & set up a program for me. So hopefully I can keep myself going, and get in shape this term! I'm glad I joined though - something to do, and it feels good to work out! I hope I can keep it up when I go back to school in May.

I think I'm a foodaholic. I really like to eat, and eat a lot throughout the day when I'm at work. Plus I seem to spend a lot at the grocery store - today I went in intending to buy only wings & garlic bread (for Superbowl) and sour cream. But I ended up buying other stuff too (although I probably would have bought it eventually, but maybe not everything was "necessary") Oh well. I do eat fairly healthy though - most of my snacks throughout the day are fruit or veggies. Like today, I had 5 servings of fruit (plus a glass of orange juice this morning!) And I drank more water today than I normally do.

However, in addition to my foodaholism, I enjoy cooking, as many of you know. And I find it funny when a lot of the time, I (the student) have much better lunches than a lot of the guys at work! And I rarely eat frozen dinners/food...I ate my first this term this past week (when I was really lazy) and it was a Pizza Pop. I just like my own cooking better!

Work's improving. I finally got some non-mind-numbing work to do :) My supervisor is heading to Utah skiing next week, so he's leaving me quite a bit to do!

So, today is Groundhog Day. Wiarton Willie (the Canadian one) did not see his shadow, which means that winter is soon over & spring is just around the corner. My question is: WHEN DID WINTER START?? LOL.

Well, I better finish packing up for the weekend. Take care all, and maybe I'll update again sometime. I just don't feel the motivation, or have anything *too* exciting to say lately. But I'll try.

<3 Jill

  • Hey Mau! It was a great time :) Of course, whenever I'm at the party, it's always a good time ;) And yes, you did choose the wrong winter, but trust me, you still have better weather than I do!

And yes Sophie - that was just for you ;) Pudding shooters were AWESOME! I think I'll like talk to Amanda and we'll make some for a Pumphouse party next term. The chocolate-Bailey's ones were probably my favourite! I don't remember if you were at martini night...if you were, I probably sent you pics already. But I'll try to remember to send you the link later!

    *hugs you both*

  • how do you know if Willy saw his shadow or not?

He's just a groundhog. Can he point at the ground with those pointy claws?

    Or... squeal in morse code?
