This term's lineup...
So I've now had 2 days of school. And been to all my classes once. They seem alright - some are better than others (as per usual) But here's my thoughts on them:
ChE 35: Mass Transfer. Could be the worst of the bunch. The prof seems like he'll teach ok, but according to one of my other profs, he's difficult (but then again, another class who had him last term said he gave an easy-peasy midterm) However, he's getting up there in age, so not as enthusiastic about stuff it seems - and apparently he had really bad body odour :S
ChE 36: Chemical Reaction Engineering. This is going to be a hard course. But I'm looking forward to it, as it's pretty important for my major. The prof is young - 28 years old, and seems nice, although a bit of a drill sargeant. He's going to take 1% off everyone's exam each time someone's cell phone rings in class...but hopefully that'll teach *some* people in my class to FINALLY turn off their phones! But he seems nice, and seems like he'll teach well, and he seems approachable if we need help. Unfortunately, the fail rate for that course last time was about 30% :S
ChE 38: Electrochemistry. Prof seems really good. Course - not sure about yet. Boo to labs, but hopefully things'll work out & I can be with Mike & Geoff again :D
ChE 321: Numerical Methods. This is the 4th time I've had the prof for a course with exams (I've also had him as a lab prof before) and my marks for the previous 3 have been 52, 54 & 59. But I normally do well in math courses. So I'm not sure how this course will do. I'm hoping to kick this course's ass (and show Mario that I'm not a dumbass!)
Music 140: History of Popular Music. New prof for this course this term. Not quite as good as the old one, from what I've heard, but he should be ok. He's a little quirky, but it'll be a fun class. Tonight we learned about music from the slave trade in New Orleans back in the 19th century, as well as the initial blues from 1920s. And we get to listen to all these! So I'm excited to learn about new music :D
And that's the lineup! It'll be a difficult term, but hopefully an interesting one :)
