Hurricane Katrina

So I haven't said much about the hurricane, but it's horrible. My heart goes out to everyone down there who lost everything. I was watching the news at noon today, and they mentioned that there have been rapes & racism, etc. Looking at some of the pictures, I can't believe that it's in the United States, and not in Iraq or some third world country. Very very sad :(

And of course, as everyone knows, we're getting nailed with huge gas prices. Yes, it sucks, and has caused me to not go out as much, or start biking more. But, it could be a hell of a lot worse - first, they're higher in the US, and they've always been much higher in Europe. And it could be worse that you could have lived in New Orleans and lost everything.

I heard the song "New Orleans is Sinking" by the Tragically Hip on the radio the other day...it just doesn't seem appropriate right now, and I was a little upset that it was being played right now :S
