Ridiculous!
As most of you know, I was a bridesmaid in my friend Alyssa's wedding 3 weekends ago (August 20). Since I wasn't in town all summer, except for a few weekends, nor was I in a big town, I purchased her wedding gift when I purchased her shower gift, on June 4th. The shower was on June 26, but I bought the shower gift & wedding gift early b/c I didn't know when I'd be home. And it got it over with.
For the wedding gift, I purchased some of their silverware from their registry at the Bay - her 3-piece serving set, her 4-piece serving set, and one of her 5-piece eating sets. I believe it was the 4-piece set that was not in at the time, so it was ordered. However, since it was 2 1/2 months before the wedding, the lady who helped me figured that'd be plenty of time. And yes, it was early, so I assumed that there would be no problems with me getting it on time.
Towards the end of July, I had Mom call the Bay to check the status. It wasn't in yet, but they said that they were getting an order from the company in a week and a half. So if Mom hadn't heard anything, she should call back then. I think she called, and it wasn't in. But, two days later, the Bay called, and told my parents that it was in. They were shopping in the mall that the Bay is in the day after, so they went to the Bay to pick it up for me. The people at the Bay could not find the order. It just wasn't there. This was about 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding.
About 8-9 days before the wedding, the Bay called, and said that the silverware was being shipped in from B.C., and should be there soon. Hopefully the day before the wedding.
However, we hadn't heard back from them when I returned to Waterloo for the wedding on the day before, and since I was at the mall, I went into the Bay to ask about it. It wasn't in, but they told me that it should be there soon - usually it took about 7-10 days to ship in from B.C, so they figured it'd be there early the next week. They gave me a card to put inside the card, informing Alyssa & Jesse that there was more to the gift, but it wasn't in yet.
The wedding was 3 weeks ago this past Saturday. I got a call today that the gift was FINALLY in. Only 3 weeks after the wedding, and 3 months after I ordered it. I'm still friggin annoyed by that. It's nice for the fact that I'm going out for lunch with Alyssa tomorrow, so I can give it to her, but there's no way it should have taken this long to come in!

yeah... you should have given them half the money first. Then you can with hold payment.

That's ridiculous!!! I would have caused one hell of a fuss. It just boggles the mind how stores can be so bloody moronic.
We still need to register for gifts...the only question is register for what? We pretty much have everything already. lol.
