Rambles of my life

Looks...

So, I'm at the library now, but before this, I was at home watching Oprah. It was about plastic surgery. The part that really struck me was this one girl, who's 28 years old, and has had 26 plastic surgeries. 26!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy fuckin hell!

She's had her lips made bigger 5 times, 4 nose jobs, 3 facelifts, eyebrows lifted, and work on her stomach, breasts, thighs, and others. She looked so fake - her lips were huge & unattractive. And she still wants more. She does not feel comfortable with how she looks.

Her sister was on as well - she's 18, and very pretty. Now I don't doubt the one who is 26 wasn't pretty to begin with, but I didn't find her overly attractive now.

They had other people on as well who have had plastic surgery, and they're addicted to it. They don't think they look good yet. So they keep going through with it. It's like the same psychological problem as anorexics. But it's sad. People do not think they look good as they are, so they go through with stuff like surgery or anorexia, but they never like how they look.

I think this is a problem given to a lot of people, mainly females, by the media. They see all the celebrities on tv or in movies who are super-skinny & pretty & popular with men. And they think that's what they want to be...what they need to be. It's horrible. B/c most of these people are naturally pretty, but they don't think so. So they ruin themselves. And I feel sorry for them :S

  • It was pretty bad...her lips were just ugly.

The doctor had also told her that the last time she had a nose job, it was possible that it would collapse on her face, and they'd have to start from scratch. But she still went through with it...why?? As well, she now has trouble breathing through her nose :S

Her best feature is her hair...true, but even that has been dyed numerous times! :S

  • Hey Jill!!

Glad you're able to blog again!!
I saw that show yesterday, yeah that woman looked like a Barbie doll. What's really scary about it is, that she would rather go under the knife and risk dying on the operating table.
How ugly must you be on the inside that you'd rather die if you're not pretty on the outside. But that's not the case at all. This lady seemed like a very nice and sweet person, fighting an addiction. it's hard to relate to, but I suppose plastic surgery offers a temporary solution to insecurities caused by problems in ones life/past, much like alcohol and drugs.

    Her eye balls were pretty.

  • Hey Lou...I can sorta blog. As long as it's not long. Actually I've written up details of some of my weekend in Word, so we'll see if I'm allowed to post it. If not, stay tuned for it later this week (when I get to the library!)

I know it was an addiction...sad, really :S
